I stole this idea from a baby shower I co-hosted. My wonderful MOH Heather, provided the paper and beads and got everyone at my bridal shower to write me/us a note/wish/blessing. The beads will be sewn on to our handfasting cords. I was so touched by these (even though I was the one who gave her the idea) and the fact that she put so much effort into them.
Here are the beads themselves. They were attached to the papers/wishes with wire that Heather twisted into spirals (a very auspicious symbol even if not done on purpose)
I have been married to my wonderful husband, James, since June 21, 2008. Together we are raising his two sons (Liam 14, Hayden 11), three crazy kitties ( Bean, Tonks, Spike -- yeah, named after Kurt Cobain's kid, Harry Potter, and Buffy the Vampire Slayer respectively), and three leopard geckos (Striker, Jezebelle, and Anya -- another Buffy Baby). We are also working on our first child together. I think our future child will have a tough time competing with our spoiled brat youngest kitten (Spike) but any baby of ours is up to the challenge. I spend most of my time researching fertility, crafts and books online. I am Wiccan, my husband is not but he is very supportive and enjoys my crazy "witchy ways". I've been vegetarian for 15 years but have recently been thinking a lot about free-range chicken.xo
